§ 8-2. Ordering election.

  • In all city elections the mayor or, if he fails to do so, the city council shall order the elections, give notice and appoint election officers to hold the elections. In general elections for officers, the order or proclamation shall be issued not later than forty-five (45) days before the first Saturday in April of the year in which the election is to be held.
