§ 6-165. Manufactured housing.

  • Any person keeping or maintaining any manufactured housing within the city limits shall comply with the following minimum requirements:

    (1)

    Manufactured housing must be installed by a person possessing a valid installer's certificate of registration with the state department of labor and standards.

    (2)

    All manufactured housing (mobile homes) must comply with the Texas Manufactured Housing Standards Act, Vernon's Ann. Civ. St. art. 5221f.

    (3)

    All manufactured housing must meet all standards set by the state department of labor and standards on anchoring systems, blocking and materials and methods.

    (4)

    All manufactured housing must be properly blocked and anchored within forty-eight (48) hours of being placed on its lot or space.

    (5)

    Manufactured housing must meet all electrical, plumbing, gas, general repair and zoning requirements of the city prior to refund of the performance bond.

    (6)

    Manufactured housing must be suitably underpinned from ground to home with either metal, laid brick, tile, concrete or other approved underpinning. Underpinning must match the color of the home.

    (7)

    Only one (1) manufactured house (mobile home) is allowed per lot.
