§ 6-97. Wiring in fire zones.

  • Wiring for light, heat or power in all buildings hereinafter erected and all wiring, alterations and additions to existing buildings in fire zones as described in section 6-1 shall be installed in a rigid iron conduit or metal raceway. All buildings used or to be used for mercantile purposes, all churches, schools, rooming houses, garages for three (3) or more cars, hotels, hospitals, factories, grain elevators, filling stations, refineries, apartment houses of more than two (2) apartments, basements, buildings other than private residences of two (2) or more stories and all buildings to be used for public entertainments within the city limits of the city shall have all wiring for lights, heat and power installed in a complete conduit or metal molding system. All changes or additions to wiring used for light, heat and power in all buildings classified in this division shall be in conduit or metal raceway.
