§ 6-102. Service entrance switches—Generally.

  • The service entrance conduit must enter a main line safety switch or circuit breaker on the outside of the building as approved by the city electrical inspector. In all single family and multifamily dwellings not exceeding six (6) apartments, where outdoor metering is used, the service switch must be of the service entrance type with fuses or circuit breakers for each of the ungrounded service conductors and a neutral strip or connecting bar for fastening the neutral conductor.
