§ 6-51. Licenses required.

  • No person, firm or corporation shall engage in the business of installing, altering, expanding or repairing electrical installations without being the holder of a proper license issued by the Texas Department of License and Regulation. No person, firm or corporation shall advertise or hold themselves able to engage in electrical contracting without being the holder of a state master electrician's license. All electrical work shall be performed under the control, supervision, direction and responsibility of a master electrician.

    (1)

    A state journeyman electrician's license or a state apprentice electrician's license will be required when performing electrical work supervised by a master electrician.

    (2)

    Every individual holding a license as required by this section, shall carry a duly issued and current registration card at all times while performing duties covered by such license and shall present the same upon request of any Inspector. If individual is unable to present a current registration card, as requested by the inspector, then performance of electrical work in his/her capacity shall cease immediately and regained when provided to the inspector.
